Video testimony from an expert from the Regional Health Agency in Réunion

The Regional Health Agency is exploring new mosquito control techniques as alternatives to traditional solutions using insecticides.

Interviewed by BHL, our partner on the island of La Réunion, Jean-Sébastien Dehecq, entomologist for the Regional Health Agency, highlights the advantages of Qista mosquito traps compared to the usual mosquito control techniques using insecticides.

The current interest around traps is a major interest in the fight against mosquitoes as we know that we are coming to the end of a period of insecticide use.

In particular, he highlights the selectivity of the Qista traps which only impact mosquitoes, whereas insecticides affect other species of insects. From his perspective, environmental protection and safeguarding public health are also key points compared to traditional solutions.
